Hot Hot Day

It has been ages since i last posted my entry....I have been swarmed with activities for the last few weeks...work stuff, Qi's exam etc etc...Seizing the chance when damien is taking his nap and Qiqi over at her granny's place, i reckon that it's high time that i do a little updating....

The weather has been crazy the past few days and it's terribly hot today....Qi's exam is finally over and she's in her holiday mood now...spending all possible minutes in front of the telly, if not, glued to the PC....ohh...forget to mention her latest pastime: chit chatting with her friend on the phone for hours....hehehe...okay lah...on the account that she has been diligently preparing for her exam the past few weeks, i just closed 2 eyes to it and let her enjoy herself...

Damien's lower tooth has officially popped out and he has taken well to porridge...finally....phewww...initially, he hated porridge and WILL only take mee sua, cereal and Heniz pumpkin and sweetcorn puree...it was after countless trials (he rejected fish and frog leg porridge) that finally had him grinning when we fed him porridge....both my maid, yayuk and i heaved a sign of relief...Finally, we got it right....We used fresh pork ribs, wolfberries and red dates to make the broil...afterwhich, we used the broil to cook the rice with...YUMMY!....he loves it....wolfberries is good for the eyes and red dates so that he will be ang ge ang ge like that loh....hahahaha...:P

We have also started to bring him down to the pool whenever my hubby is around....it was also after several attempts that he is now comfortable in the water....1st attempt, he began to yell and cry hysterically when the water lapped at his feet...imagine, just water lapping at his feet also cannot....2nd attempt, he allowed us to venture further....that is water touching his bum before he let up his infamous pitch high shrills....3rd, 4th attempt also failed miserably....i nearly gave up...but my hubby persisted and finally, Damien took to the water like a fish...hehehe...now he is comfortable sitting on the pool steps (with half his body submerged) and also when we hold him by his armpit, he is able to float and use his legs to kick out...he loves to use his hand to pat at the water too.....Good Good...coz coming monday, he will be attending his first swimming lesson at the Marsden Swim School (Turf City)...This swim school is operated by Australians. All their instructors are certified by AUSTSWIM and they are qualified to teach infants....i just spoke to Damien's instructor, Jane Marsden the other day and she was telling me that all infant swim classes will be held in their heated pool...hmmmm...this is the selling point for me to sign Damien up....their website: http://www.marsdenswimschool.com ...So i got his Huggies "Little Swimmers" and his thermal suit ready liao...just need to buy one swimsuit for yayuk so that she can get into the pool with Damien when i become too big...hehehehe...shall update you guys on his progess on Monday...:)

Hectic Week

What a week!...time just flew by and it's sunday again...was so busy that i didn't have the time to update my blog...just came back from Junnie's (my hubby's cousin) daughter, Avril, birthday party...she just turned 2 today..."Happy B'day, Avril.."..my boy was so excited seeing so many ppl in the party that he did not sleep the whole day...i was surprised that he was still so cheerful and energetic when we reached home....i was expecting him to be cranky...heng!...But after giving him a warm bath, he fell asleep almost instantly when we put him in his yaolan...talking abt b'day...i went to Renee and Fabian daughter, Sonia, full month celebration last saturday...so fast 1 month already...very cute...just brought back all the memories when damien was a month old....

Our chairman, Robert Miller, came over from Montreal for a visit...so the past week had us cleaning and tidying up our workstation and putting things in order for his visit...my boss and all the managers were all tied up in preparing endless reports and budgets....with the current economic meltdown, it's a challenge to secure more business...everyday when i reached home, i'm just like a walking zombie...tsk! tsk!...so not healthy...must ask Dr. Koh during my next visit if there is any supplements besides folic acid that i should take...

My MIL went back to Penang last tuesday, so it's just my helper taking care of Qi and Damien...I brought them back to my dad's shop yesterday and Yayuk sooon became fast friends with my mum's maid....it's so nice to see them both caring for Damien..they brought damien for shopping whilst i catch up with my parents...and they bought toy cars for him...hohoho:)...

My mum, knowing that i wanted to give porridge to damien, went to the market early in the morning to get fresh "nor he" for me to cook the porridge with...so this morning, following my mum's instruction, i cooked porridge for him...jie guo...damien took just 1 mouthful of the porridge and decided that he doesn't like it...no matter how my hubby and i hong ta...he just refused to open his month...he clammed his mouth so tightly that it's impossible to pry them open...No means No mummy...hehhhh...so no choice loh...my hubby took out his fav Heniz pumpkin and sweetcorn and he happily whacked almost a bottle....giggling and smiling too...i will see if yayuk have better luck with the fish porridge tomorrow...maybe it's the way i cook it....

Oh Michelle, forget to tell you that remember the other time, i was telling you how damien didn't move when i put him in his walker??....hehe...now he's moving like a pro...err....i should say sliding....backwards/sideways also can...but not moving fwd yet...maybe in another week or so...i'm so happy :)

Damien seems to lose interest in this teethers and fingers now...he has taken a fancy to his toes instead....i wonder how his toes taste....maybe taste like sng sng like that :p

Baby Walker

Just started Damien on his walker...My hubby and i decided to get him one when we dropped by Kiddy Palace (TP)....was there to see my gynae last saturday....my hubby who is not a DIY person was worried that he will have problems setting the walker up...but wif some help from the sideline (that's me..yeahhh)...he managed to get the thing up....10/10 for his effort!!!

Tummy Time

Hi guys, nothing much to update these few days....or rather i'm too tired and lazy....didn't get much rest during the weekend...thanks to my little dynamo who will without fail let go a series of sharp shrills at 5.30am sharp....i tried turning away and ignore him, thinking that he will go back to sleep...but no loh....he will keep at it until i'm so worried that he will lose his voice....hehhhh...

i told my hubby about this when he came back from flight...he said:" dear, get it right, he's talking to himself and not yelling"....ok loh...i mean obviously my ah lao didn't hear damien practise his vocal yet...the next morning, i was in the toilet preparing for work when my little one decided that it's time to wake the whole world up...so off he went:" ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!"....u know what, my ah lao who is preparing breakfast for me in the kitchen walked into the room and said:" Mien can you pls dun shout???"...i overhead this and could not resist saying:" i tot you say he's talking to himself??"...he didn't replied me and walked out...hahaha...

It was one of the few rare occasions that Damien was still awake when i reached home from work...normally, he will call it a day after my MIL bathed him and fed him at 7pm.....Seizing the chance of him being awake, i ask my ah lao to snap some pics of us in bed....goodness...he smell so nice...I'm so addicted to him...yummy!
